Esther Leta Rogers

Esther Leta Rogers 73, of Alliance passed away at her home on August 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 28, 1949, in Excelsior, McDowell County, West Virginia.

She was a graduate of Excelsior High School and was employed for 33 years in Nutritional Services at Alliance Community Hospital. More recently she worked as a crossing guard for the city of Alliance. Esther loved the Lord and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She also was a proud member of the Elks, Gladys Merrell Temple #1049.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth & TW Thompson; husband, Michael Rogers; loving son, Gary Rogers; siblings, Beverly Ann Thompson, Cleo “Nita” Morgan, Jacqueline “Jackie” McFarland, and Thomas William “Tommy” Thompson Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughter, DaNicca Baker; grandchildren, Raqueal Brabson, Dajeun Dickerson, Shay’Leta Rogers, Shantyia Rogers, Gary Rogers II, Michael Baker, Ashley Andrews, Fuquan Rogers; 13 great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Bobby (Joyce) Williams, Carol Miles, Alberta Thompson, Thaddeus (Fran) Thompson, Maxine Phillips (Charles) McKoy, Sherry (Carlton) Mobery, Terry (Michelle)Thompson; special aunts, Juanita Lemons and Gladys Westbrook; special daughter, Tylou Young, and special son, Marlon Baker.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 2pm at Just Classy Events 1230 East State Street, Alliance, OH 44601. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for educational opportunities for Esther’s family. CashApp: $daniccabaker or PayPal: [email protected]
