James K. Brown Jr.

James Kenneth Brown Jr. was born on September 13, 1966, and passed away on September 27, 2025.

His name was James, but everyone called Boo Boo. His mother Theresa was listening to James Brown record Boogaloo and little James was trying to dance so she started calling him Boo Boo and so did everyone else. James graduated from Garfield High School. He was on the wrestling team and the ROTC. He was a hard dedicated worker. Always working two jobs since high school. But his passion was in detailing cars and lifting weights. He loved to ride his motorcycle and watch football with his cousins.

James was preceded in death by his father, James Brown Sr.; grandparents, Buck and Adel Hayes, Rudolph and Cora Woods.

He leaves to mourn his passing mother, Theresa Brown; half-sister, Chevail; brothers, James I and James II and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who dearly loved him.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 12:00 at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320.
