Aretha “Diane” Sherfield, 63, got her heavenly wings, on September 23, surrounded by family at home.

Diane, as most called her, was born on March 25, 1956 to Nettie Ruth and William James Carter in Muskegon, Michigan. Her childhood years were spent in Akron, Ohio. She attended South High School, Akron, OH. Diane enjoyed time with her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and good friends.

She is preceded in death by mother, Nettie Ruth; father, William James; brother, James Carter; sisters Mary Ella Moore; and Alice Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband of 30 years, Anthony Sherfield; daughter Candy Carter; sons Juhard (Kionna) Carter, Ihmaud (Chaunta) Carter, and Rashard Carter; stepdaughter, Andrea Sherfield; brothers, Denver Carter, Anthony Carter, and William Carter; 17 grandchildren, Tyra, Alexis, Sydney, Jared, Natalya, Isaiah, Jordan, Jai’on, Kiondra, Aaliyah, Trinity, Mickayla, Rashay, Sia, Seth, Azel and Shardell; two great-grandchildren, Miley and Derek; special nieces and nephews, Dionne, Diane and Denise; Calvin, Anthony, Ray and Marlon; special friends, Stephanie and Donna; and a host of other family and friends.
