Arnold H. Jones

Arnold H. Jones “Scat Man” 89, passed away February 25, 2025. He was born August 13, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio to the late Leonard and Retha M. Jones.

Arnold embodied the spirit of honest hard work. He began his career with Whitacre and Greer and spent 35 years as a crane operator for the American Steel Foundry. Beyond his professional life he was an accomplished softball player, a loyal fan of Cleveland sports teams and loved cars and taking scenic drives.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Mae Jones; his parents; siblings, Paul Jones Sr., Jack Jones, Frances Jones, Eva Mae Douglin, Gladys Ross, and Margaret Jones; and special nephew Henry Gray.

He leaves to cherish his memory, special nephew, Ron (Sonia) Douglin, stepson, Robert Powell, special friend, Sandra Patterson and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, March 8, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, 683 S. Linden Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 noon. Burial will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
