Barbara A. Dawkins

Barbara Alafair (Goley) Dawkins, age 68, passed away peacefully Monday, August 21, 2023.

She was born February 12, 1955, in Covington, Kentucky to Mary Chapman and Cecil Patton. She was married to George Dawkins Jr. in May of 1995, who preceded her in death in 2012.

She has been a resident of Akron, Ohio for the past 54 years.

She loved caring for people while she worked as a nursing aide for 26 years, retiring in 2015. After retirement she enjoyed embroidery, playing card games and tracing ancestors.

She is survived by her brothers, Carl Bevins, Charles Connley and Floyd Chapman Jr.; children, Deshone (Charles), George, Donn and Derrick (Micheall) Goley ; grandchildren, Courtney Stockard, Devin Goley (Tatenesha), Nicholette Burney (Je’Von Burney), Dennis Buchanan, Treshone Goley-Buchanan, Donnika Goley and Arionna Goley; great grandchildren, Kyila Spy, King Lollar, Cortez Goley, DeMyiah Goley, Journei Hilton-Burney, JeVierre Hilton-Burney, Omari Gains, Ahmir Jones, Aiden Jones and Jayden Goley, and many other relatives and friends.

All these she loved and touched deeply.
