Darryl Thomas

Darryl Marcel Thomas Sr, 53, of Akron, OH passed away on March 22, 2020 in his home.

Darryl was born to Marion E. and Susie Thomas. He was the youngest of four children and he enjoyed spending time with each of his siblings. He shared his love for Sci-fi with his brothers, Donald and David, and his love for fine cuisine with his sister, Cynthia. He graduated from John R. Buchtel High School in 1986 and later went on to serve in the United States Air Force where he received several certifications for technical training and computer science. He enjoyed working in the technical field and provided many companies with his expertise in data engineering.

Darryl raised 5 children with whom he shared this love for weaponry and technology. He especially loved goofing off with his children and telling his corny dad jokes. He left behind a piece of his legacy within each one of them and because of that he will never be forgotten. Darryl had a passion for cooking, singing and all genres of music. He was an artist and also enjoyed taking hikes with his youngest son Dereon. He especially loved having pizza parties and movie nights with his 5 grandchildren. He had a host of family and friends that he enjoyed spending time with, but you could always find him at his cousin Bryan’s house listening to music and eating good food with a glass of his favorite drink in hand.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marion E Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Seward) Thomas; mother, Susie (Johnson) Thomas; 3 siblings, Donald Shepherd, Cynthia Thomas Robinson, David Thomas; his children, Kiarra (Damien) Warren, Aleah Thomas, Naiya Thomas, Darryl Thomas Jr. and Dereon Thomas; grandchildren, Kamaria Thomas, Shamar McAdory, Naveh Warren, Neshaun Warren and Layla Warren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who he loved deeply. He will truly be missed.
