Dewitt “Butch” Herring II

Dewitt “Butch” Herring II, 57, went home to be with the Lord on Monday December 27, 2021. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on November 4, 1964 in Akron, Ohio to Dewitt and Bernice Herring. He was a 1983 graduate from Buchtel High School.  He spent 2 years at Ohio State University and from there he served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He was employed by GoJo Industries until his death.

He loved football and basketball and the Minnesota Vikings was his favorite team, but of course he loved the Cleveland Browns also.  Butch was a stranger to no one. He was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Butch was preceded in death by his son; Dewitt “Trey” Herring III.

He is survived by his loving and supportive parents, Dewitt and Bernice Herring; children, Chante Dent, Ahmad Akhdar, and Ashleigh Herring; brother, Robert (Andrea)Wims; sisters, Denise (Delbert) Dyer, Beverly (Meech) Herring and KiKi Herring; grandchildren, Kennedy, Princess and Trinity; former wife, Yolanda Herring; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
