Eleanor Sanders

Eleanor Sanders was born on July 14, 1931, and passed away on April 23, 2023. Born in Akron, Ohio to the late James and Loretta Shropshire. Eleanor was married to the late Roosevelt Sanders. She worked at Valley View Nursing Home for over 50 years. Eleanor’s passion in life was serving people. She loved caring for and helping people. Though she spent many years comforting and caring for those in her career, her most joyous time was spent caring for her family.

Eleanor leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children by her first husband, the late Barney Thomas: James(Daisy) Thomas, Robert Thomas and Bonnie Thomas. Nieces: Liz Sellers and Penny Shropshire. Nephews: Donald Lee Gaines and Felton Shropshire. Grandchildren: Lavondo(Ingrid) Thomas, Clifford David Curry, James Deshaun Thomas, Lakisha Thomas, Shamikca(William) Graham, Rochelle Thomas and Robert “BJ” Thomas. Eighteen great grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren. Eleanor was proceeded in death by brothers: Felton, Bill and James Shropshire. Sisters: Loretta Shropshire and Annie Gaines. Grandson: Robert Vaughn Thomas.
