Emma Mae Brown was born May 6, 1939, in Montgomery (Waugh County) Alabama to the late Emma and Ike Pinkston Sr. She was the fifth child of twelve. Emma was working at a Beauty shop for six years and then became a housewife. She lived in Chicago, IL for four years and then moved to Akron, Ohio.
Emma Brown always had a beautiful smile that lit up the room and was the greatest cook. She was known for her potato salad as it was the best.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Willie T. Brown that was the love of her life; sisters, Janie Mae Rogers, Lizzie Clay Ennis, Bernice Gladys Walker, Viola Wheat and Doris Jean Garrison, and five brothers.

Emma Brown has two beautiful daughters that she loved so dearly, Linda Ann Brown and Lavenda Dennis Brown; her only grand-daughter, Emma Marie Brown that she truly loved so much and son, William Thomas Brown Jr. ; half-brothers, Andrew Pinkston, Mitchell Burch, Coleman Pinkston, Isaac, Walter Pinkston and Ike Pinkston; sisters, Perry Mae Oliver, Fannie Mae Walker and Annie Mae Pinkston and her favorite and best friend and sister-n-law, Marcy Pinkston and Whealock Pinkston and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
