Lalita Mendoza

Lalita Jean Mendoza was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 73. Her battle with serious medical issues showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the challenges, she stayed strong until the very end.

Lalita was born to Marjorie and Ramon Mendoza on June 1, 1951. She pursued many degrees in education and was a teacher for Akron Public Schools for over 30 years. She took pride in her career and her students, and she shared her passion for teaching with thousands of children over the years. She was a faithful member of Hills Temple First Born Church and served as a Missionary. She fed and clothed the less fortunate and she visited and prayed for the sick. Anything that was asked of her to do she always did it with a smile.

Lalita was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Mendoza and her mother, Marjorie Mendoza. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Anthony (Carletta) Collins, Juaquene Donnie, daughters, Kim (Theron) Hall and Mia Donnie, sister, Ramona Jones, brother, Ramon (Kim) Mendoza, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hills Temple, 799 S. Arlington St., Akron, Oh 44306. Funeral service will immediately follow. Condolences may be sent to 1547 Crusade Dr. Copley, Oh 44321.
