Mary Tucker

Mary Emma Tucker passed away on January 29, 2021.

She was born July 4, 1930 in Opelika, AL. She was one of nine children born to Berry and Melia Dowdell and accepted Christ at an early age. Mary moved to Akron, OH and met her late husband Lawyer Tucker in 1955. Together they started a family of two boys and four girls. Mary was known throughout her neighborhood for her welcoming spirit, sweet voice and kind gestures.

Mary Emma is preceded in death by her parents Berry and Melia Dowdell, husband Lawyer Tucker, daughter Mary Williams, great-grandson Tiawn Barham, four brothers and three sisters.

She leaves behind her loving children, Gwendolyn (Timmy) Rogers, Mark Tucker, Tijuana (Charles Fitzhugh) Tucker, Jeanette Tucker, and Jermaine (Anna) Tucker; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.
