Mattie J. Gray

Mattie Jane Gray was born on May 6, 1943, to J.C. and Isabelle Avent.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Roland Taylor Gray.

Born into this marriage were four children; Daughter, Michele Gray, sons, Anthony, Dorland and Vincent Gray and Honorable sons; Kevin Ashford and Ronald Caldwell.

Mattie enjoyed spending time with her family, talking on the telephone with friends, fishing and playing bingo.

She is preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Isabelle Avent of Grand Junction, Tennessee, husband Roland T. Gray; sons Anthony, Dorland and Vincent all of Akron Ohio. Sisters Anna Avent and Delorse McCraney, brothers L.B. and R.D Avent all of Akron Ohio.

Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Michele R. Gray of Akron Ohio; Sister, Easter Ferguson; special granddaughter’s, Veniece and Mattie Harris; Special great-grandson’s, Kenneth and Kerris Grimes all of Akron Ohio, and a host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
