Phyllis E. Stephens

August 22, 1962 – November 30, 2020

Phyllis E. Stephens, daughter of Glenn and Elease Stephens, was born on August 22, 1962 in Elyria, Ohio.  She received her wings and departed this life peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020. Phyllis graduated from Elyria West High School and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business from Purdue University.
Phyllis worked as a professional in several industries, including Aviation, Insurance, and for the past 14 years in Construction as an Assistant Project Manager of Compliance and Safety for G. Stephens, Inc.
As an adult, Second Baptist in Elyria, Ohio became her church home where she devoted hours volunteering in many areas and participating as a choir member. Her love of education and young adult’s growth provided continuous motivation to support youth ministries.
Phyllis was a loyal, dedicated member and leader of several Orders including, Past Matron of Martha Chapter #35, OES, PHA, Oberlin, Ohio, Secretary of Floyd E. Churchwell #38, HOJ, Elyria, Ohio, Past Commanders of Al Lalim Court #205, Elyria, OH, Past Admin. Asst. #2, Amaranth Grand Chapter, OES, PHA, State of Ohio and Member of Audit Committee, Daughters, Desert of Ohio.
Preceded her in death was her father, Glenn Stephens.
She leaves to mourn: A mother, Elease Stephens; sisters, Janice (Walter) Pemberton and Darla (John) McCryndle; brothers, Glen (Cathy) Stephens, Bruce (Jackie) Stephens, Jerome Stephens, Larry (Linda) McCullough, Barry (Brandy) Williams;  an uncle,  Moses Stevens; several aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
