Sidney Yarbrough

Sidney L. Yarbrough also known as Sid was born August 21, 1955, in Akron, OH, and completed his mission on earth March 27, 2024.

Sid attended grade school in Akron and graduated from Park Avenue School in Pomona, CA.

Sid was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in the ending years of the Vietnam War. Sid attended the Truck Driver Institute in Biloxi, Mississippi and drove semi-trucks cross country and retired from this job that he loved in 2005. He was hard working, dedicated, and dependable. He loved the singing groups of the 70’s, especially Jazz, musicians like The Temptations and hip-hop artist, one of his favorites being 2pac. He would proudly show off his singing skills as well as his dance moves. Sid was also a jokester and could make everyone around him laugh.

Sidney is preceded in death by his father Willie Yarbrough and brother Kevin Yarbrough.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, Whitney Yarbrough, Sherina Yarbrough, Natalia Yarbrough, Bree Yarbrough and Corey Yarbrough. Mother Clora (Miller) Yarbrough. His brother Anthony (Carol) Yarbrough and sisters Angela, Sylvia and Sharese. He also will be remembered by a host of granddaughters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 11, at 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 pm at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Ohio 44320. Services will immediately follow.
